AND

ADVICE, TIPS AND HINTS FROM MANY SUCCESSFUL ENGINEERS
I took their mistakes, and I learnt from them!!
Now, I bring this expertise to you!!
My Background and how
I’ll use it to help
you.
| My
name is Bob. I graduated in a B.S in Mechanical Engineering in 1994.
(University of Alabama in Birmingham, U.S.A) From then on, it didn’t
take long for me to get a job and get my career as a Mechanical
Engineer off the ground. I started in a very small company in the
General Industry. Today, I have fifteen
years’ working experience and I
am now Project Manager in a multi-national company in the Oil &
Gas
Industry. |
| My present salary is
considerably higher than the
average engineer salary. I even earn more than those engineers who have
worked in the industry 5 years longer than me. I want to
assure
you that I WAS NOT TOP
OF THE CLASS in my class or college - yet now,
some of the TOP SCORERS
actually work with me – and report to me –
today!! |
| And there’s more! . . . I
usually leave work on time!!
When other, more senior engineers, are still working hard in the
office! After work, I go for a nice long swim, and have a
nice,
relaxed and leisurely cup of coffee with my friends. I do feel sorry
for them though, as they often go back after dark, and have to come
back to the office early in the morning! What a life eh? |
| I
absolutely love what I am doing right now – I often hear so many
engineers saying how unhappy they are working as an engineer. Many of
them go as far as to say "I REGRET
BEING AN ENGINEER" or “I
WISH I HAD NEVER BECOME AN ENGINEER”. What I am now is in
no way, an
accident. Sure, luck often plays its part, but the fact of the matter
is, I learned hard to do what I wanted to do. I wanted to be an
engineer, so I worked my hardest to get there, and now the
rewards are paying off. How did I do it you ask? |
|
I’ll show you right now,
with the SECRETS
that I learned.
Think about it, If you are not happy in your life, what
is the point to be an engineer?
Well, I switched to a better
Industry – a more rewarding industry! |
| During
my time working in the General Industry, I sent more than 100 job
applications or more to 'Oil & Gas' companies.
Nothing happened. No
positive replies. Not one. Until I found the winning formula - I was
successfully offered a job with a small 'Oil & Gas' company -
consisting of 2 engineers (the owner and I), 2 draught men, and 1 admin
personnel. I worked as a Mechanical Engineer but by working in such a
small company meant that I would have to multi-task, - that is to say
doing everything! I literally became indispensible! |
This
winning formula to penetrate the industry is my own Personal SECRET
and I will now reveal them to you!
I Switched
to Branded Company |
| During
my time at this small company, my experience attracted the attention of
a medium-sized company. I could perform
the
equivalent workload of 3
different jobs that would normally have
to be performed by 3 engineers in the new company I joined. I
found that, "Doing
everything" in my experience, was obviously an
advantage to me and my future career! In fact, my 1 year’s
experience in the small company was equivalent to 3 years
working in the bigger company. The company thus
acknowledged the value
of my experience and promoted me. |
| Being
promoted wasn’t because I was smarter than others but because
my
learning curve was higher and I ran faster than they did!
In many
ways, I stayed ahead of the curve. |
I Grabbed the Unpopular Opportunity |
| On
one occasion, most engineers in the company for which I worked, refused
to be assigned to a construction
site. So, I took the offer as Field Engineer and supervised Mechanical
and Piping construction work. I was in the construction field for a
considerable time |
Another
missed opportunity for others, as the mantra "dirty hands make a good engineer"
really paid off.
I Unlocked
my own personal Career Trap! |
| I
once met a rather unhappy senior engineer who had worked on an
off-shore platform for the last 20 years. He told
me that
he was tired of being away from his family for so long. He was
therefore urgently looking for a job closer to home. But found that
changing to a new job after 20 years, is not that easy. In fact, a
lower salary and unsuitable experience are major handicapping factors.
I call this a career trap. |
| I quickly realized that my
long
construction assignment would mean I would probably end up being out of
town forever! I didn’t want to fall into my own career trap. I used the
winning method and soon persuaded a company to hire me to work in the
office. Career trap is not being away from your family but traps your
life choice due to your career! |
The
winning method to
unlock my own career trap can now be yours! I reveal
it in my SECRETS
and I reveal them to you!
I Followed
My Nature |
| Construction
experience is always an advantage for a new job as a Project Engineer.
From there I spent time developing my career from Project Engineer to
Project Manager. I now had two junctions to turn;
two
choices I
needed to make. Continuing to be a Mechanical Engineer -
which I
was comfortable with, or to groom and prepare myself to be a Project
Manager. It was an important decision for me to take another direction
but I realized that I should really choose the job that suits me and my
nature. The job that stayed true to my heart. After all,
working with people is my passion and communication is my talent |
Remember,
a successful engineer career relies a lot on you re-focusing your talents and
passions back into your job.
I Switched to Luxury Industry
|
| Having
gained more than 10 years’ On-Shore experience, I managed to penetrate
into the Off-Shore Industry by working for an International Oil
&
Gas Company. It’s almost impossible for a person like me to
have
this kind of opportunity otherwise – and I didn’t get this opportunity
by chance - I found the right
tools that enabled me to maximize my
engineer value.. |
These
tools that will help you maximize
your career value are revealed to you in the Personal SECRETS that I
bring to you, once
and for all.
|
| Finally, I opted
for a Project Manager role after years of observation of myself,
thinking about what I wanted, my potentialities and my caliber. It took
some years for me to find out what kind of an engineer I should be. |
Today
I’ve got that answer for you, too.
Please,
don’t get the wrong idea!
I
am NOT
telling you, that you should join
the Oil & Gas Industry. Oil & Gas is just one of the Luxury
Industries that I could show you. There are a whole host
of Luxury
Industries that I reveal to you in my E-book.
However
there are
also many Tips you will need and can use to penetrate the
lucrative Oil & Gas Industry. It’s also not my intention to, in
any
way encourage you to be a Project Manager at the end of your
engineer career.
A
Project Manager is just one such example of many
jobs that could suit your talent and character. Being a Project Manager
has answered my choice literally. But you should choose the
job
function that best suits your character, and who you are.
Remember,
be
true to yourself.
DON'T
KNOCK ON THE COMMON DOORS AS EVERYBODY ELSE
hmm... let me re-engineer the
words
KNOCK ON THE DOORS LESS KNOCKED WITH THE GREATEST OPPORTUNITY!
My
E-book is a compilation of my own personal observations, lessons
learnt, a sharing of the stories I have heard with other successful
engineers and over 15
years’ worth of work that I am simply happy and
ready to share with you.
The book gives you simple explanations
to help you understand, and show you the basic idea of what an engineer
does in his or her daily life. I give my advice in many areas as to
what you should know in regard to an Engineer’s World and more
importantly, advice and hints on what you should do to become a
successful engineer.
I will reveal the secret doors that are ready to be opened.
